Letter of Solidarity to French Cooperative Movement

President of Cooperatives Europe Dirk J. Lehnhoff sent a letter to President of Coop FR Jean-Louis Bancel in order to express his condolences and solidarity with the victims of last week’s terrorist attacks in Paris and with all French cooperative movement.

Dear President, mon cher Jean-Louis,

Let me express to you and the French cooperative movement on behalf of the Board of Cooperatives Europe, the representative organisation of the European cooperative movement, our deepest condolences and solidarity with the victims of last week’s terrorist attack in Paris.

Just as we arrived back from the General Assembly of the International Cooperative Alliance in Antalya, we were confronted again with an assault on our joint democratic and open society values in Europe, for which your country stands so much.

Let us stand together in these moments of difficulty. Above all let us work more closely together, in order to transform our society and its economy by making cooperation, inclusiveness and democracy its principal pillars.
