2018 General Assembly - Helsingor
The 2018 General Assembly will take place on May 16-18 in Helsingor, Denmark, hosted by Kooperationen.
The registrations are now closed.
Cooperatives: key actors in Europe for a sustainable future
Our 2018 GA theme focuses on Global Sustainable Development Goals. Cooperatives are the key actors in delivering change through sustainable, people-centered enterprises worldwide. Our unique model bridges the gap between the social and economic, allowing for impact-driven activities in every sector. Thus, Sustainable Development Goals should be part of every cooperative in all countries, going beyond, but including, the perspective on international development.
This year's event will bring to you some of the leading names in the field from Denmark and the EU institutions, including the Former President of the United Nations General Assembly, Mogens Lykketoft, and Kirsten Brosbøl, Former Environment Secretary, MP and Chairman of the All-Party Network for the Sustainable Development Goals. Participants will be able to participate to inspiring workshops on gender equality, collaborative economy & youth, and international development, as well as take the floor to address the members of Cooperatives Europe to collectively shape and guide our work through dedicated discussions and debates. The GA will also be an opportunity to award the inspiring young winners of our #MyCoopStory competition.
The hosts at Kooperationen have also prepared a complementary programme visiting the local Danish cooperatives as well as the sights in Copenhagen.
The 2018 General Assembly will be the first paperless event.
All information, including the programme, useful advice and hotels are available on the GA website.
We kindly ask you to register swiftly and book your hotels until April 28th (first come, first serve).
Please note that the event will be hosted at the same location as the hotel. Failure to secure accommodation in Helsingor will mean staying in Copenhagen which is a train-ride away.
