Traineeship – Junior advocacy officer

Cooperatives Europe is recruiting a trainee junior advocacy officer for a period of 5 months. Application form and instructions can be found below.

Roles and responsibilities 

The intern will conduct and support advocacy activities on specific topics. Key responsibilities are:  

  • Monitor EU policies in specific fields such as European entrepreneurship policy, collaborative economy and social economy
  • Coordinate consultation procedure
  • Assist the preparation of working group meetings and visibility events
  • Write meeting minutes and reports
  • Contribute to the organisation of the office

The intern, under the supervision of the director, will work in close cooperation with the Cooperatives Europe team and its partners.

Person specifications

Essential 

  •  University degree in European studies, Economics or Law
  •  Skills Capacity for analysis and synthesis
  •  Excellent command of English and French, both spoken and written
  • Good IT and communication skills (word, excel)
  • Ability to work in a small, multi-cultural team

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of other European languages
  • Knowledge of cooperative business model
  • Experience in conducting primary and secondary research with good report writing

Contract

  • Type of contract: The traineeship will be completed in the framework of “Convention d’immersion professionnelle, under the Belgian Law
  • Remuneration: The traineeship is remunerated 
  • Starting date and duration:  mid-October for 5 months.
  • Location: Rue du Trône, 4 – 1000 Brussels (Belgium).
