Theme: Cooperatives and purpose-driven enterprises: What sets them apart?

In the past two decades, the rise of companies integrating social and environmental goals into their business models, extending the corporate social responsibility (CSR) concept, has led to the emergence of different sorts of “purpose-driven enterprises. This trend prompts a reflection on the position of cooperatives. Despite the evolving corporate landscape, cooperatives remain distinct from purpose-driven enterprises that aim to amend the capitalist model without challenging its foundations.

The question arises: can cooperatives and purpose-driven enterprises learn from each other, and is a dialogue between them both possible and beneficial? As we explore these questions, we invite participants to a day of presentations and discussions, aiming to deepen the understanding of these models’ roles in today’s economy.

Our gathering on day one will dive deep into these shifts, offering a space for critical reflection. On day two members will be invited to the general assembly on statutory business with an election process to elect the interim president for the coming year.
