Call for consultants: Research guide on international cooperative development

Cooperatives Europe is looking for an independent consultant to develop a practical research guide on international cooperative development (ICD).

The consultancy is part of the #coops4dev🌍 programme under the new Financial Framework Partnership Agreement (FFPA) with the European Commission. Building on the 2019 CEDP publication Good Practices in International Cooperative Development, the guide will map alternative ICD approaches led by actors outside the cooperative movement, identify best practices, and provide recommendations to support sustainable and democratic cooperatives worldwide.

The work will place a spotlight on projects in the enlarged Europe region, including Armenia, Moldova, Türkiye, Ukraine and the Western Balkans. It will also address challenges that affect the sustainability of cooperatives, with practical guidance on how to avoid cases of “failed” or “fake” cooperativism. The guide will contribute to showcasing the cooperative movement’s impact on the UN 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Interested candidates are invited to submit a CV, proposed approach, budget proposal, and a writing sample. Please download and read the full call below for precise instructions.
